Environmental Test Chamber (Temp & Humidity)

About this resource

A programmable environmental chamber for temperature and humidity cycling of electronics, materials and assemblies. Startups use it to shake out failures before field deployment: cracked solder joints, fogged optics, warped housings. Standard profiles for IS and IEC damp-heat and thermal-cycling tests are pre-loaded, or you can program a custom profile against your own field data. Logging runs unattended overnight. The chamber sits in SIET's central facility block, so the same visit can combine chamber time with the 3D printing lab next door.

The organisation

SIET is an autonomous engineering college with 4,200 students and a Central Instrumentation Facility built under its research grants. Under an MoU with the CII Salem Startup Wing, the institute opens its prototyping, testing and talent resources to registered startups at subsidised rates. Facility time for startups is ring-fenced every week, and a dedicated R&D office coordinates industry access so academic schedules are never a surprise to visiting teams.
