A shielded chamber for radiated and conducted emission scans of electronic products, run by the electronics cluster for its members and now open to startups. Pre-compliance scanning here costs a fraction of a formal lab slot and tells you whether your design will pass before you spend on certification. A cluster engineer sets up the scan, walks you through the plots, and suggests fixes: filtering, grounding, layout changes. Most teams book a second slot to confirm the fix, then go to the formal lab once. The chamber covers 30 MHz to 1 GHz radiated scans and conducted emissions on single-phase mains devices, which covers the common BIS and CE test plans for consumer and industrial electronics.

The organisation
Kurumbapatti Electronics ClusterThe cluster was formed by 40 small electronics manufacturers to share infrastructure none could justify alone: EMC pre-compliance, environmental chambers, and a small-batch SMT line. A cluster engineer supports every visiting team, and slots are allocated through a published weekly calendar. Startup access came in 2024 through the CII partnership and now accounts for a fifth of chamber hours.
